Terms of service
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Kaara ("we", "us") for using the Kaara game, website and related services. By playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Kaara. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to play Kaara. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they accept these terms for you.
2. Your account
- You can play as a guest, create an account with an email and password, or sign in with a Solana wallet. Guest progress is tied to your browser and can be lost if you clear it; add an email or link a wallet in Settings to keep it.
- Keep your password and wallet safe. If your account signs in only with a wallet, losing that wallet means losing access to the account. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account. Don't share, sell or buy accounts.
3. Shells and virtual items
Shells, items, animals, homes, plots, titles and other things in Kaara ("virtual items") are part of the game. We give you a limited, personal right to use them while you play. You don't own them, and they have no value outside Kaara.
- Virtual items can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for real money or anything outside the game, and can't be cashed out.
- Shells can't be gifted or traded between players. Goods can be traded or given only through the game's own features.
- Selling or buying Shells, items or accounts outside the game is not allowed.
- We may change, rebalance or remove virtual items, prices and rewards (for example, home prices rise as more homes are built), and we may correct balances that came from bugs, exploits or mistakes.
4. Purchases
You can buy packs of Shells with SOL from a Solana wallet. Guests must add an email or link a wallet before buying, so bought Shells stay with an account.
- Prices. Packs are priced in US dollars and shown in SOL at the current rate before you approve the payment in your wallet. The SOL amount is fixed for that order. You also pay the Solana network fee.
- Delivery. Shells are added once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain, usually within a minute. If they don't arrive, contact us with your order number or transaction signature.
- Final sales. Blockchain payments can't be reversed. Purchases are final and non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we decide to give one. Sending the wrong amount, to the wrong address or outside the game's own checkout is at your own risk.
- What you get. Bought Shells are virtual items under section 3. They are only for spending in Kaara. They don't give XP, Season Points or Cowrie, and they can't be gifted, traded, cashed out or exchanged for crypto or money.
- Limits. We may limit how much one account can buy in a day, pause the shop, or change prices and packs at any time.
- Your wallet. You are responsible for your wallet, its keys and its security. We never ask for your recovery phrase. Anyone who does is a scammer.
5. Cowrie and blockchain features
Cowrie is a token we plan to create on the Solana blockchain as a reward for playing. It does not exist yet, and nothing in Kaara or on our website is an offer to sell it. If and when it launches, it will have separate terms, may not be available in every country, and will be a reward for play, not an investment. We make no promise that Cowrie will ever have a market value. Anyone selling Cowrie or "Kaara tokens" now is not us. Blockchain transactions can't be reversed, and you are responsible for your own wallet and keys.
Season Points are a score inside the game. They have no cash value, can't be bought, sold or transferred, and Shells you buy never count toward them. We may change how Season Points are earned, hold back points from accounts that cheat or use bots, or end a Season early.
6. Village rules
Kaara is a shared village. When you play, don't:
- cheat, use bots or scripts, change the game's code, or exploit bugs to gain Shells, XP or items (please report bugs instead);
- attack, overload or try to get into our servers, other players' accounts or data you're not allowed to see;
- harass, bully, threaten or impersonate anyone, including our team;
- post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content, or content that targets someone for their ethnicity, clan, religion, gender or other identity;
- share other people's personal information, or ask players for theirs;
- spam, advertise or share links to scams, or trade Shells or items for real money;
- use names or content that copy someone else's trademark or work.
Pickpocketing, wrestling, court cases and other in-game "crimes" are game features. The rules above are about real behaviour.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you write and create in Kaara, such as chat, letters, stories, character names and decorated homes. You give us a free, worldwide licence to host, show, copy and share that content in the game and when promoting Kaara (for example, featuring a home in a post), for as long as it's in the game. Only post content you have the right to share. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
8. AI residents
Some villagers are run by AI. Their replies are generated automatically, may be wrong or odd, and are not advice from us. Don't rely on them for anything important, and don't share personal information with them.
9. Enforcement
If you break these terms, we may warn you, mute you, remove content, reset progress or virtual items, or suspend or close your account, depending on how serious it is. Where we can, we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we'll look again.
10. Changes to the game
Kaara is growing and is still in active development. We may add, change or remove features, lands and content, run maintenance, or pause the service. We'll try to give notice of big changes. In rare cases (for example, a major exploit), we may need to roll back or reset progress.
11. Our content
The game, its world, characters, art, music, code, names and logos belong to Kaara or our licensors. You may share screenshots and videos of Kaara, including in monetised videos and streams, as long as you don't suggest we endorse you. Otherwise, don't copy, sell or reuse our content without permission.
12. Disclaimers and liability
Kaara is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and fair, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or that progress will never be lost. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for the loss of virtual items, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or ₦10,000 if that's more). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
13. Ending these terms
You can stop playing and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end these terms or close Kaara with notice, or immediately if you seriously break them. Sections 3, 5, 7, 11, 12 and 14 continue after the terms end.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to solve the problem. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Nigeria, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the game before they take effect. If you keep playing after that, you accept the new terms. Questions: kaaragame@gmail.com.
